Residential Accommodation
GCI's residential accommodation is the perfect option for students who want to live independently with other students. It is available year round and usually consists of houses or apartments with 3 or 4 bedrooms so students have the opportunity to live with students from all over the world.
Accommodation includes a single room with shared living, kitchen and bathroom facilities while some shared rooms are available during the summer. All houses are fully-equipped and allow students to live independently while they are studying at GCI. Students can choose to have a private en suite bathroom at an extra charge.
Students must be over 18 years of age. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday and check out is at 10.00 am. Additional nights may be booked in a B&B, Hostel or Hotel.
All residential accommodation is non smoking. A security deposit of EUR 150.00 is payable on or before your first day at school. This can be paid by credit card, pre-authorization or in cash. IBAN codes are essential if we have to refund cash deposits - otherwise the bank imposes an exorbitant charge of approximately EUR 20.00 which will be deducted from students. Students are required to sign a form to say that they will abide by the rules and regulations of residential accommodation. The approximate distance from our residential accommodation to school is less than 15 minutes to 35+ minutes walk.
Host Family Accommodation
Staying with a family maximizes opportunities for language practice and facilitates a greater understanding of Irish culture. Galway families are open, friendly and talkative so you should feel totally at home for the duration of your stay - you are always welcome at a GCI family.
Students of the same nationality are not accommodated together unless by specific request. Our host families provide breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday and full board at weekends. GCI is located near its host family base so some families can be within walking distance of the school while others are a maximum of 15 minutes by bus.
Executive Host Family
We have a number of excellent families who cater for executive students who require private bathroom facilities. Students benefit from accommodation of the highest standards while still having the opportunity to immerse themselves in Irish family life and culture.
Bed & Breakfast and Hotels
B&Bs and Hotels are selected by GCI on the basis of quality and convenience. As with all accommodation, early booking is essential especially during July and August to ensure you have the accommodation of your choice.
