Why should I take Individual English lessons?

In contrast to group teaching, which is usually in a cluster setting, individual English lessons can often be delivered in an informal setting thus making individual tuition one of the most popular course choices for individuals that need results fast.

Individual lessons have many advantages for the students but it requires a slightly different mindset compared with group teaching.

The informality of one-to-one lessons is sometimes an advantage as it can be less stressful than group teaching and often less time-consuming with regard to lesson planning and homework marking.

An individual lesson allows more flexibility for workers who don’t have time to go to school or can’t attend regular classes due to work and travel commitments.

Individual English lesson are ideal for:

  • Highly motivated learners
  • Professionals looking to pass an English exam for their work progress
  • Students targeting a niche university entry that requires top-notch English language mastering
  • That teachers collaborate with you intensively encouraging you, the student, to take an active role in the learning process
  • To become more self-directed
  • High quality interaction with the teacher
  • The teacher to address language points as they come up, even though they weren’t necessarily in your lesson plan
  • Opportunities to practice your interpersonal communication skills

Individual English lessons will allow you to move at a pace decided by you and your needs rather than a groups’ overall progress. Students of a one-to-one class have more opportunities to use the teacher as a resource – to ask questions, to see models of language, and to practise skills.

How will doing Individual English lessons help me?

First and foremost, the teaching methodology will be tailored made to suit your learning needs. You tell us what you need and the teacher will have the opportunity to get to know you and create lessons that are suited to your individual needs and preferences.

With a one-to-one learning environment, the student is able to communicate open and honestly with his or her instructor. In many cases, the conversations are student driven and you do not rely on peers for support as you become the solely responsible for answering every question.

During the individual lessons, it’s also fun and easy to arrange field trip lessons by strolling the Salthill Promenade on a sunny afternoon or going shopping together, or visiting a museum. In these kinds of settings, students can build their confidence quite quickly, often resulting in rapid progress over the first few meetings.

One of the most gratifying aspects of individual lessons is seeing how quickly language progress can be made through natural communication in an informal setting.
