Who is the course for?

The Cambridge English First Certificate is one of the most respected international language accreditations.

Widely accepted by thousands of employers and universities around the world, it proves that you are competent enough to live, work and study in an English speaking environment.

This Cambridge First FCE (EP30) exam preparation course is an excellent choice for those who don't have time for a full 12-weeks course of study. If you use every day written and spoken English at a B2 / Upper-Intermediate level on the CEFR, this is the course for you.

The course is run intensively over 6 weeks with 30 lessons per week (22.5 hours) which means that you gain an international qualification in a short period of time. This still allows you both time to study on your own and to practise inside and outside the classroom.

Galway Cultural Institute is an authorised Cambridge English Test Centre and our students can sit the Cambridge English First (FCE) exam here at our school in Salthill.  Don't forget, not every school which offers Cambridge exam courses are certified testing centres. Our students say it is a huge plus that you can do your exam in your own school.

Course objectives

Our Cambridge First FCE examination programme is designed to prepare you for  all components of the FCE exam: Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking. You are given excellent levels of support and guidance which ensures that you are guided on your path to success.

During the exam preparation course students will:

  1. Develop communication skills accross a variety of everyday settings.
  2. Gain a complete grounding in all four papers, lessons focusing on grammar, syntax, key vocabulary and skills development.
  3. Benchmark your level to international standards and achieve global mobility.
  4. Improve your range and accuracy in all areas of the English Language. This will be reflected in your exam results.

Galway Cultural Institute has a proven track record with FCE exam success

On your first day, you will be allocated your:
