Course content

Our General English Course 30, G30 follows a weekly Syllabus Guide for 12 weeks at each level both for morning and for afternoon lessons. These syllabi are designed to deliver learner outcomes based on the Common European Framework (CEFR) ‘Can Do Statements’ as well as the needs of our students.

These weekly Syllabus Guides are based on core course books and supplementary material developed by the expert teaching team at GCI for the morning classes. Afternoon sessions focus on a wider range of resources that are both topical and interesting. We choose our coursebooks, materials and digital resources from the latest research into English language as it is used in modern, everyday situations.

Your 10 afternoon classes focus on student interaction and are a combination of individual, pair as well as group work. There is also an emphasis on debates, presentations, listening exercises, teacher-led discussions, written tasks and reading.  This perfectly complements the structured coursebook syllabus of the 20  morning lessons.

You will see your level improve and monitor your progress each week with the end of week test.  Your teacher will discuss your progress and make recommendations personal to you.  Homework is part of your learning journey and this is assigned by your teachers every day.  The library is open every afternoon and there is a teacher there to help both boost your confidence and your motivation as well as direct you to appropriate resources for your needs.
